In Loving Memory of Michael Viguet
The Southwestern Chapter, SNMMI has established the Michael Viguet Memorial Fund to honor Michael's life and his contributions to the field of nuclear medicine. This fund allows colleagues, friends, and members of our community to give in his memory and support the causes closest to his work.
The Southwestern Chapter, SNMMI is a 501(c)(3) organization, so gifts to this fund are tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt for your records.
About Michael
Michael Gerard Viguet
August 6, 1955 – March 10, 2026
A native of Louisiana, Michael Viguet earned a Bachelor of Science from LSU in 1979 and completed his nuclear medicine (NM) training at Charity Hospital in 1981. When Michael arrived at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) in Dallas, TX, in 1997, he brought with him deep expertise in adult and pediatric clinical nuclear medicine, along with experience assisting in clinical and basic science nuclear medicine research.
At UTSW, he put that experience, knowledge, and skill to work helping expand the existing Nuclear Medicine program and build a PET Imaging Service. He trained and mentored NM technologists and NM technology students, and collaborated closely with NM physicians as they developed new services together.
Michael was smart, funny, warm, and genuine — and he was loved and deeply missed by many of us when he retired from UTSWMC in 2015. This fund is established to honor his memory and his many contributions to the UTSW Nuclear Medicine Division, and to support the professional development of Nuclear Medicine technologists.
